Peggy Ann Brainard, age 72, passed away March 27, 2005 in
Seattle, Washington. Peggy enjoyed traveling and visited countries
in Europe, Central America, North Africa and the Middle East. A
warm-hearted person, she befriended people from all backgrounds. As
an avid social activist, her interests included promoting peace,
ending homelessness and funding AIDS research, education and
treatment. Peggy fell in love with Healdsburg while visiting her
son in 1998 and promptly moved here. While residing in Healdsburg
she worked for Kendall-Jackson wineries, Long’s Drugs, Kajul, The
Brown Bag and Vintage Antiques. Peggy was by nature a people person
and enjoyed working with the public where she met many of
Healdsburg’s residents and visitors. She moved to Seattle in July,
2004 to be with her grandchildren. Her survivors include her
children Carl Locker, Jill Hines and Melissa Codespoti; her
grandchildren Ari and Eli Codespoti; her son-in-laws Scott
Codespoti and Steven Hines. She is terribly missed. She will always
be loved and her memory cherished by her children, family and many
close friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother
Robert (Bob) Brainard of Paris, France. In lieu of flowers, the
family asks that donations be made to a humanitarian charity.
