Bertha “Gertrude” Jackson Williams Kendall, 100, passed away in
Healdsburg on Friday, December 31, 2004. She was the dear mother of
Dottie Gordon (Ray Augusto) of Santa Rosa, Carroll and Vivian
Williams of Arizona, and son Ron Waddell, Sr. of Nevada;
grandmother of Carol and Jack Elvin of Cloverdale, Nancy and Lars
Heinesen of Brentwood, Ron Waddell, Jr. of Nevada, Amanda and Jim
Griffin of Hawaii, David and Chris Elvin of Cloverdale, Tracey
Waddell of Corte Madera, and Janeth Heinesen of Brentwood;
great-great-grandmother of Alizabeth Porto Elvin of Cloverdale;
sister of Ruby Ramer of Arizona and John Jackson of Arizona; also
survived by her adopted family and many generations of nieces and
nephews and grandchildren in Arkansas. Gertrude was born and reared
in Morrilton, Arizona. During World War II she was proudly employed
as a defense worker in Arkansas. She also worked as a health care
worker in El Monte for over 15 years. Her hobbies included
needlepoint, cross-stitching and embroidering. As per her wishes,
she will be buried in her hometown.
