Frederick “Freddy” Ferrel, 68, passed away at his son Tony’s
home on Saturday, July 10, 2004. Fred came to Santa Rosa recently
to be near his children, grandchildren, relatives and friends
during his illness. He was born in Tonopah, Nevada and graduated
from Stewart Indian Boarding School where he participated in sports
and learned his trade as a painter. Fred especially enjoyed fishing
with his family, “dropping” a few nickels in the casinos and going
for country rides to calm his nerves. He seemed to breathe in the
scenery and wildlife along the way. His sons Tony Ferrel of Santa
Rosa, Gilbert Ferrel of Healdsburg and his daughter Ramona McCloud
of Ukiah, survive Fred. Many grandchildren, extended family,
relatives and friends also survive him. His early leaving saddens
all. He has joined his daughter Rose and will prepare the way for
those still here. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 15,
2004 at Santa Rosa Memorial Park & Mortuary Chapel in Santa
Rosa.
