He was husband of Beatrice Silva of Sebastopol, father of Ronald
Edward Silva of San Francisco, Peggy Salazar and her husband Donald
of Santa Rosa and Marlene Anderson and her husband Jesse of
Redding, father-in-law of Connie Silva, grandfather of Darryl
Salazar, Yvette Salazar, David Silva, Yvette Silva, Veronica Silva,
Jennifer Silva and Brad Carter and great grandfather of Austin
Silva. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was born,
reared and educated in Hatch, Minnesota. He married Beatrice
Provencio on June 4, 1939. He served in the U.S. Army, fighting in
Normandy during World War II. He continued his military career as a
roofer and tile layer at Treasure Island until his retirement in
1972. Manuel loved gardening and raising chickens. He always sent
his family home with fresh vegetables and eggs. Memorial
contributions may be made to Sutter VNA & Hospice.
