Sebastopol native Violet F. LaFranchi DeMeo, 93, died in Santa
Rosa on July 1. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.N.
“Nick” DeMeo, her parents Marino and Emily LaFranchi and her son
Thomas Mark DeMeo. She is survived by her children Joan A.
Cloughesy of San Jose, John F. DeMeo and Mark J. DeMeo of Santa
Rosa, her grandchildren Kevin, Shawn, Timothy and Gia Cloughesy,
Tricia Acosta, Bradford DeMeo, Nancy DeMeo Wilson, Mark J. DeMeo,
Jr., Jay M. DeMeo, Nicole and Kelly DeMeo, Dustin and Camille
DeMeo, her great-grandchildren Merissa Acosta, Roman Acosta,
Kristina Cloughesy, Natalie and Emily Cloughesy, Nathan Cloughesy,
Erin Cloughesy, Jonathan and Lauren Cloughesy, Brieahn, Emily and
Jackson DeMeo, Jade, Haley and Tianna “Jackie” Wilson, Shelley and
Mark J. DeMeo III, Cooper Michael, Sarah and Parker DeMeo. She is
also survived by her brother Howard LaFranchi of Sebastopol and her
sister Dorothy Neal of Great Britain and numerous nieces and
nephews. A graduate of cosmetology school and a former student of
Analy High School and Sweet’s Business College, she belonged to St.
Rose parish. She was a former member of the San Souci Dance Club
and St. Rose Mother’s Club. Her life revolved around her children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was raised on a pioneer
dairy farm near Sebastopol where she enjoyed and rode horses in her
early years. Donations in her memory may be made to Valley of the
Moon Children’s Foundation, The Thomas Mark DeMeo Scholarship
Fund-Cardinal Newman High School or St. Rose School.
