Robert Donald Halverson passed away on January 3, 2003 at the
age of 72. He was born on July 14, 1930 in Grandfork, North Dakota.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Boxer during the Korean
conflict and was employed by PG&E for 38 years. He retired as a
rigger in 1992. Bob was also a member of the Knights of Columbus
and the Union Worker Association. His favorite pastime was playing
cribbage. He always carried a cribbage board with him in his
lunchbox so that he could play cribbage during his lunchtime. Bob
also enjoyed fishing for catfish at night. He taught all of his
children how to play cribbage and how to fish. He even taught many
of his grandchildren how to play cribbage and spent much of his
retirement both fishing and playing cribbage. Bob was always there
to lend a hand in whatever needed to be done. He was married to
Mary O’Connor in 1952 and was the father of seven children. Bob was
proud of his family and spent his entire life providing for all of
them. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Mary
Halverson of Bremerton, Washington, and his daughter Cecilia and
son Robert Halverson. Bob was the brother of Dorothy, Rosalie, and
Beverly, all of Washington and the adored father and father-in-law
of Kathleen and Jim Siegfried of Vacaville, William and Stevie
Halverson of Santa Rosa, Geraldine and Joseph Butterfield of
Geyserville, Victor Halverson and Kate Greene of Healdsburg, and
Frank Halverson of Yuba City. He was the cherished grandfather of
Christopher and Jennifer Lopez, Jonathon and Karen Butterfield, and
Michael and Jessica Halverson. He will be missed for his sense of
humor and the love that he gave to all of his family and friends. A
service will be held on January 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. at St. Peters
Catholic Church in Cloverdale.
