A woman of love, mystery, determination and remarkable courage,
Shirley Ann Green (Van Epps) Gardner-Aston died at home in Rogue
River, on Jan. 25, 2008. She was born in Calistoga, California on
Jan. 17, 1947. She lived in Rogue River-Grants Pass for nearly four
years; she was a Healdsburg, California, resident for 30 years and
a Cloverdale, California, resident for 25 years. She attended both
Cloverdale and Geyserville schools and had attended Rogue and
Umpqua Community Colleges. She was a member of the American Legion
Post 0021 and the Women of the Moose since 1968.
Shirley Ann was preceeded in death by her husband: Charles
Stanley Aston; Father: Francis Green (Van Epps); Mother: Leona
Green (Knight); Brothers: William Green, Harry Van Epps and John
Van Epps.
She is survived by Brothers: Ray Van Epps of Sheridan, Oregon,
and Frank Van Epps of Crawsfordville, Oregon; Daughters: Darla
Gardner of Rogue River, Oregon and Eva Gardner of Port Orchard,
Washington; Grandchildren: David Edwards and Alaina Edwards;
Cousin: Susie Bryant-Rubio.
She was a creative woman and had a passion for life. She loved
to travel – had many adventures in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and
throughout the Caribbean. She stated that her life was “full of
Mystery and Excitement” and toŠ”Love someone every day for it may
be your last”.
Graveside services will be held at the Geyserville Cemetery in
the summer.
