Gladys Oleta (Jones) Rickard died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008. She was
80. Rickard is survived by three sons, Dewayne (Deanna), Michael
(Erin), and Bradley (Julie); brothers, Lawrence Jones, Sam Jones
(Stephanie), and Marshall Jones (Peggy); sisters, Pauline Boatman,
Peggy Kee (Bill) and Janie Jervan (Dennis); grandchildren and great
grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Rickard was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of
Graton. Many in the Russian River area will remember Gladys from
her 45 years working at Fern’s Grocery Store in Monte Rio.
Family and friends attended a viewing on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008
and a Funeral Service celebrating her life was held on Saturday,
Feb. 2, 2008.
Robert L. Butt
Accomplished golfer, retired to Forestville
Robert L. “Bob” Butt died Jan. 30, 2008 in Forestville. He was
78.
He was born in San Francisco and started working at a young age
at Business Extension Bureau, a printing and publishing
company.
He retired in 1989 to pursue his all-time passion of golf. As a
member of the Presidio, Olympic and Fountain Grove golf clubs he
carded 10 holes in one and many tournament wins.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of 59 years; children, Robert
L. Butt, Kathleen A. Gilliland, Richard R. Butt (deceased);
grandchildren, Vincent R. Butt, Gregory R. Gilliland, Michelle E.
Vanover-Butt; great-grandson, Vinnie Butt; siblings, Marilyn
Rummerfield, Patricia Howze, Babara Midtlie, William A. Butt
(deceased) and Dolores Barber (deceased).
Private family services will be held. Inurnment will be in the
Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
Donations may be made in Bob’s name to Memorial Hospice, 821
Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa, CA. 95401 or to Hanna Boys Center.
