Simone Passicot Hoffmann passed away peacefully at her Windsor
home at the age of 87, after a period of declining health. She was
born in the French Basque region, in a town called St. Jean de Luz
in 1920. She met and married Charles Frederick Hoffmann, an
American GI in 1945. She moved to San Francisco in 1946 and worked
for the Bank of America until 1977, when they moved to Cazadero.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1979. Simone was a kind
person, with a great affection for cats. She had a wry wit and a
robust personality. When confronted with a possible problem, she
would often say, “Oh don’t worry about it.” She treated her many
guests to her wonderful French cuisine, which she learned from her
father who was a chef. Friends were invited to a service for her at
1 p.m. on Tuesday November 13, at the Guerneville Cemetery, at
16375 Fourth Street, in Guerneville, CA.
