Mary Helen Mefford – Golf club member, avid gardener

Mary Helen Mefford died Nov. 13, 2007 in Sebastopol at the age
of 83. She was born, raised and educated in the Philippines and had
been a Sonoma County resident since 1976.
Mefford was a member of the Sebastopol Women’s Golf Club for
many years and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and the outdoors. Mefford
also took great pride in her garden where she grew beautiful
orchids and roses.
Mefford is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles;
daughter, Jan (Mel) Bowers; son, Jeff (Dana) Mefford; three
grandsons, Chris and Justin Bowers and Nick Mefford; sister,
Elizabeth Kusick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service were held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007 at St.
Sebastian’s Catholic Church, Sebastopol. Burial followed at
Pleasant Hills Memorial Park, Sebastopol. Donations may be made in
Mefford’s name to the American Heart Association.
