The Ironman triathlon race this Saturday, July 29 will impact traffic on several roads surrounding Healdsburg and in the north county, beginning as early as 7 a.m. and continuing to early afternoon.
All motorists and local residents are being advised to arrange their travels with the  impact of 2,400 triathletes in mind.
The Ironman starts at Lake Sonoma with a swimming competition, with the bicycle race expected to start by 7 a.m. The route includes Dutcher Creek and Dry Creek roads, looping near Cloverdale on Asti and Chianti roads.
Lytton Springs Road westbound will be closed to vehicle traffic. Kinley Lane, from Dry Creek to Westside roads will be closed and southbound traffic on Westside to Wohler Bridge will be closed.
Race officials predict participants may be on Westside Road up to 12:40 p.m. at which time full vehicle traffic will be restored.
The race course is monitored by volunteers, as well as CHP personnel at all intersections.
The Ironman finishes with an out-and-back foot race along the Santa Rosa Creek with the finish line and post-race celebration in Courthouse Square.
