County, city roads expected to be clogged Saturday morning
The annual Levi’s GranFondo bike race is coming to Sonoma County this Saturday, Sept. 30. The event features 11 cycling routes throughout the county of varying degrees of difficulty for riders to enjoy followed by a music festival near the Finley Center in Santa Rosa. The free festival includes live music, food and beer vendors, a kid zone and more.
During the ride, numerous county roads will be closed for cyclist safety. Closures include:
- 1 to 7 a.m. — North bound Stony Point Road between 9th Street and College Avenue
- 7 to 7:45 a.m. — North and south bound Stony Point Road between 9th Street and College Avenue
- 7:45 to 9 a.m. — Stony Point Road between Glenbrook and W. College Avenue
- 7:45 to 9 a.m. — West College Avenue between Stony Point Road and Cassasa Way
- 7:45 to 9 a.m. — Hall Road
- 7:45 to 9 a.m. — West 9th Street at Stony Point Road
- 7:50 to 8:30 a.m. — West College Avenue from Stony Point to Fulton Road
- 8 to 8:40 a.m. — Fulton Road from West College to Hall Road
- 8 to 8:50 a.m. — Hall Road from Fulton Road to Sanford Road
- 8:05 to 8:50 a.m. — Sanford Road from Hall Road to Occidental Road
- 8:05 to 9 a.m. — Occidental Road from Sanford Road to Mill Station Road
- 8:10 to 9:15 a.m. — Mill Station Road from Occidental Road to Sullivan Road
- 8:10 to 9:30 a.m. — Sullivan Road from Mill Station Road to Graton Road
- 8:15 to 10 a.m. — Graton Road from Sullivan Road to Bohemian Highway
- 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. — Bohemian Highway from Graton Road to River Road.
According to the event website, impacted areas will include: Graton, Occidental, Monte Rio, Duncans Mills, Cazadero, Tin Barn Road, Stewarts Point Road, Kruse Ranch Road, Hauser Bridge Road, Seaview Road, Meyers Grade, Highway 1, Willow Creek Road, Coleman Valley Road Joy Road and Bittner Road.
River Road at Monte Rio and Highway 116 will likely be congested from 8:30 to 11 a.m. River Road will remain open to traffic.
