Healdsburg Jazz, a nonprofit that produces year-round jazz performances, an annual festival and education programs about the importance of jazz as the indigenous American art form, announced the appointment of Gina Riner as its new executive director.
“We are excited to announce this appointment,” said Jessica Felix, founder and artistic director of Healdsburg Jazz. “Gina will bring leadership, organizational skills and creative perspective to our efforts to advance the impact of Healdsburg Jazz in our community.”
Riner has a 30-year professional background in business, marketing and arts management. She has served on several nonprofit boards during her career, including the Healdsburg Center for the Arts and as president for the American Business Women Association’s wine country chapter. She is also the owner of Snap2 Marketing, a marketing consulting company she founded in 2011.
“The combination of Gina’s business, marketing and nonprofit leadership experience is the right mix to strengthen and expand our mission and work moving forward,” said Paul Mahder, HJF board chair and owner of Paul Mahder Gallery.
Riner becomes executive director at a critical time in HJF’s evolution as it gears up for the 20th annual Healdsburg Jazz Festival in 2018 and embarks on an ambitious strategy to ensure HJF’s legacy and future.
