Council to discuss housing, senior transportation
The Healdsburg City Council will meet on Monday, May 7 at 6 p.m. at Healdsburg City Hall. The city will hold its annual review of the housing element, discuss whether to make the local bus service free and hold its annual review of the Montage resort project, formerly known as Saggio Hills.
The city is required to report to the state once a year on its progress and policies to provide housing to residents. The “Housing Element” is the city’s roadmap for housing and the annual report meets state goals to check in about the Regional Housing Needs Assessment, which currently shows Healdsburg meeting most state goals.
The city council will also discuss transportation for older adults. The staff report offers a variety of options, including subsidizing local bus service so that it’s free for all. The discussion item also includes a recommendation to launch a city-sponsored and managed volunteer driver program to support local seniors.
The annual review of the Montage project is a requirement of the city’s development agreement with the developer, but since the project has broken ground and been issued building permits, the item is expected to be a routine approval.
