Often, when people picture Healdsburg, they visualize a town plaza with wealthy tourists strolling, enjoying gourmet food and sipping expensive wine.
Healdsburg High School is a melting pot of ethnicities and incomes and is 60 percent Hispanic.
Knowing this, HHS is putting time, money and resources to make sure its students are college and career ready.
The Healdsburg Unified School District hired nationally recognized SAT prep expert David Gruenbaum to come to HHS for an entire day of SAT preparation for students, parents, teachers, administrators and counselors.
For 12 hours on Aug. 27, Gruenbaum coached the entire junior class on taking the SAT/ACT test, discussed the college admissions process with parents, coached seniors on ACT strategies and trained teachers on how to conduct weekly SAT test preparation.
