The Healdsburg Center for the Arts, in partnership with Healdsburg Community Services and Corazón Healdsburg, will present its fourth and final Art After Dark event of the 2018 season, live on Plaza Street between Center and East Street on Friday, Sept. 28 from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
Art After Dark is a community building street art series and will feature up to 10 artist booths, 10 organizational booths by groups, including the Healdsburg Center for the Arts, Healdsburg Jazz Festival, Active 20-30 of Healdsburg #205 Club, VeritySonoma, Healdsburg Museum & Historical Society and Healdsburg Rocks, Healdsburg SDAT.
In addition, the event will feature food and community activities such as rock painting, interactive children’s art projects, papel picado, chalk drawing, games, star and planet gazing through telescopes, poetry composition, kid’s puppetry and more.
Art After Dark will feature live performances by El Trio (Mariachi band), Tom Shader, the Healdsburg Chorus, Loz Bluz, Cardinal Newman music students and various local poets.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and 100,000 Poets for Change, the event will also feature poetry readings and a fashion show (Pasarela de Ropa Tipica) showcasing outfits from six different states in Mexico, as well as Peru.
Art After Dark is a free community arts event open to all ages.
