Homework help at the library, Feb. 28
The Healdsburg Library will host a free homework help session on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. All grade levels and subjects are welcome to this drop-in event. The event takes place at 139 Piper St.

Wine Road Barrel tasting first weekend, March 1 through 3
The Wine Road barrel tasting returns for its first weekend, March 1 through 3 at various participating wineries throughout Sonoma County. Participants will get a chance to sample wines from Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley and the Russian River Valley. Attendees must be 21 or up. Weekend tickets are $50, Sunday-only tickets are $40 and “Taste the future”/weekend tickets are $90. Animalia Exhibition, March 2
The Healdsburg Center for the Arts will start a new exhibit on March 2, “Animalia.” The exhibit will feature works that evoke images of all animals; birds, bugs, reptiles, furry friends and pets, fish and fowl. Animalia artists will express how animals inspire and affect them through the expression of their art. The opening reception is on March 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Wine and light refreshments will be available.
Healdsburg City Council meeting, March 4
The Healdsburg City Council will meet for their regular meeting on Monday, March 4 at 6 p.m. at city hall at 401 Grove St. All are welcome to attend the open session portion of the meeting.
Free tax preparation, March 6
The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is offering free tax preparation assistance for low- to medium-income families on Wednesday, March 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Healdsburg Library. Be sure to bring your Social Security Card, a valid photo ID, 2018 Tax Return, all your income statements for 2018, W-2s, SSA 1099 from Social Security, etc., 1099-R Statements, Investment 1099 INT, DIV and Bs, property tax statements, education 1098T forms, child care statements, unemployment statements, medical insurance proof, initial cost if you sold stock, expenses if you itemize, sales receipts if you bought a house, car, boat, RV and any other income or expense documents. A checkbook is mandatory for direct deposit of refund.
Good morning Healdsburg, chamber of commerce chat, March 7
The Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce hosts a monthly chat for local businesses and anyone who is curious to hear about what’s going on in Healdsburg. The next discussion is on Thursday, March 7 from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Healdsburg Community Center at 1557 Healdsburg Ave. The city and chamber will report on the month’s hot topics and representatives from various businesses will also speak. The event is free.
