Moses Torres, 18, who is accused of murdering his brother, Ivan Torres, entered a plea of not guilty at his arraignment on April 10, according to Sonoma County Superior Court and the District Attorney’s office.
A preliminary hearing court date has been set for Monday, May 20, at 10:30 a.m., at Sonoma County Superior Court. Court dates are subject to change until 4 p.m. the day prior.
Torres has been charged with felony murder with a deadly weapon.
Healdsburg Police Department received the call of a possible stabbing at Canyon Run Apartments on March 27.Â
According to initial Healdsburg police reports, officers “located 25-year-old victim Ivan Torres lying on the ground with a stab wound to his torso.”
Ivan Torres was pronounced deceased en route to the hospital.
They were later able to arrest Moses Torres without incident in the Larkfield-Wikiup area.
Torres has retained the legal counsel of Kristine Mary Burk, according to Sonoma County Superior Court.
