Millard Fillmore Holden, 96, a longtime resident of Healdsburg,
passed away Feb.13 in Healdsburg. He is survived by his longtime
sweetheart and wife of 27 years, Jane Holden, his sons and
daughters in law Phil Holden, M.D. and his wife Debbie of Gold
River, Ralph Holden and his wife Linda of Healdsburg; his grandson
Chad Carroll and two granddaughters Heather and Melissa, and his
much beloved great granddaughter Kaitlind Carroll. He is
predeceased by his first wife Ethel.
Millard was born in Riverside, Calif. on Sep. 9, 1910. He
graduated from of the University of Southern California in 1932,
and was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific
Theater. He was in the Navy Reserves for 20 years attaining the
rank of Lt. Commander. He moved to Healdsburg in 1950. He is a
retired Residential Contractor, having built many affordable and
custom houses and apartments in Healdsburg area from 1950 to 1980.
Millard was a former member of the Healdsburg Planning Commission,
Board member of the Healdsburg Unified School District and past
president of the Healdsburg Rotary Club all in the 50s and 60s. He
enjoyed the many new friends he and Jane met on the many cruises
they took before settling down to enjoy his family.
