James Lee DenBeste was born in Minnesota on Dec. 3, 1933 and
passed away on Sunday, March 4 at the age of 73 while in Memorial
Hospital, Santa Rosa. He was a longtime resident of Cloverdale,
living here over 50 years and raising his children here. Jim was a
veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in Hawaii. Jim is remembered by
family and friends as a hardworking man who for many years owned
his own trucking company, Jim DenBeste Trucking, and more recently
tended to his vines at his DenBeste Vineyard, which produces wine
under its own label. Jim is survived by his six children; sons Paul
DenBeste and his wife Melody of Cloverdale; William DenBeste and
his wife Lori of Windsor; Joe who lives in Northern California;
Danny of Santa Rosa; Ronnie and his wife Lisa of Ukiah; and his
daughter Margaret Fitzgerald and her husband Pat of Cloverdale. He
also leaves behind long-time companion, Peggy Sullivan. Jim is also
survived by grandchildren Justin, Vanessa, Krysha, Angie,
Christopher, Feleashia, Rignee, Kayla, Tasha, Chelsea, Kali and
great grandchild, Synica. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday,
March 11 at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Cloverdale. Viewing
was at Fred Young Funeral Home, Cloverdale on Saturday, March 10,
2007 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
