Margaret Nettie Rutz died July 3rd, 2008, at age 92 in Portland,
OR.
Margaret was born September 29, 1915 in Milburn, OK. She was one
of three daughters born to George and Ada Martin Turner. She spent
most of her life in California and her later years in Olympia, WA
before moving to Portland, OR this past year.
She graduated from high school in Morris, OK in 1933 and
subsequently married George Rutz. They settled in the Sonoma County
area of California where they raised their family, owned a prune
ranch and were involved in their church. She was a proud employee
of JC Penney for 25 years. Over the years Margaret enjoyed her
church circle, neighbors club, gardening and quilting. Together she
and her husband enjoyed trailer travel, fishing and trips to
Arizona and Hawaii.
She was predeceased by her husband, George, and two sons Jerry
and Jacob Harlan. She is survived by her sister, Bernice Larsen, of
Alameda, CA; her four grandchildren Renee (Bob Zdebski) of
Portland, OR, Robin of Redmond, WA, Jeremy of Stockton, CA, and
Jayna of Lodi, CA, and her great-granddaughter, Sarah Zdebski, of
Portland, OR.
A family farewell will be held in Olympia.
