John LaGrotta died July 9, 2008 in Guerneville at the age of
83. He was born, raised and educated in New York and had been a
resident of Guerneville for the past three years. Â
LaGrotta is survived by his wife Marilyn, the LaGrotta-Zilavy
family of Guerneville and the Day family of Virginia.
 He was a veteran of WWII as a member of the 470th Crew of the
455th Bomber Squadron and was a lifelong member of the Amalgamated
Lithographers Union.
LaGrotta was an artist of many mediums and the final showing of
his work can be seen at River Images Gallery in Guerneville. Â
