Housing open house April 28
The City of Healdsburg will host a public Open House on April 28 to provide an opportunity for the community to offer ideas and input into the city’s first ever Housing Action Plan (HAP), which will direct and inform the type of housing the community would like to see built over the next six years, acting as a key tool for shaping the future growth of our community.
The open house is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Community Center, 1557 Healdsburg Ave. it will be a drop-in format organized around a series of informational stations designed to gather feedback and discuss with the public how the Housing Action Plan will shape growth.
Valley Fire benefit
Peterson Winery, along with the Forestry Crab Feed organization, is hosting a silent auction fundraiser for the firefighters and their families who were injured or lost their homes while they battled to save homes and property of others during the devastating 2015 Valley fire in neighboring Lake County.
The silent auction, held at Peterson Winery in Dry Creek Valley, begins on April 23 and will coincide with the Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley annual Passport event.
The auction will run through May 1, with most of the items having a “Buy Now” option. Many local wineries and other businesses have contributed items for the auction, including large format bottles, a collection of Dry Creek Valley Zinfandels, tickets to Passport 2017, gift certificates to local restaurants, citrus trees and much more.
In addition to the funds raised by the auction, Peterson Winery will donate profits from the sale of their Fire Storm Red to the Firefighters Relief Fund.
Preschool funding

Five dollars can buy wine lovers a shot at a collection of premium magnum wines to stock their cellar and the joy of supporting kids. The Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley (WDCV) have announced a new raffle benefiting preschool education in the local community; the raffle is happening in conjunction with the 27th Annual Passport to Dry Creek Valley on April 23-24. Prizes include seven packages with an approximate value of $300 each, featuring rare Dry Creek Valley wines and tasting experiences.

‘Bravissimo’ for THS
The Healdsburg School is holding its annual “Bravissimo” fundraiser on Saturday April 30, with the theme of The Godfather.  This year’s “Bravissimo” takes its cue from its Coppola Winery location, founded by film director Francis Ford Coppola. The evening will feature a performance by stage and screen actor Franc D’Ambrosio, who played Anthony Vito Corleone in The Godfather Part III.
In additon, on Friday, April 29, there will be a “Bravissimo” evening concert with D’Ambrosio at Lambert Bridge Winery, where attendees will be able to preview many intriguing auction items.
All money raised at the April 30 event goes towards educational programs designed to support focused academics as well as the school’s emphasis on social and emotional learning, cultural awareness and community outreach. HHS play
The final production of the Healdsburg High School Drama Department is “Papers,” a series of absurdist one-acts written by the Class of 2016. The seniors wrote the scenes and the advanced drama students are interpreting them for an audience. The play will be performed on Friday, April 29, at 8:15 p.m. in Frost Hall at the high school.
Community Band
The Healdsburg Community Band will perform a selection of classical music that has become mainstream in their Spring Concert, May 1 at 3 p.m. at the Healdsburg Community Church. Tickets are $10, children 12 and under free. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
Open house in Geyserville
Geyserville New Tech Academy will host an open house at the high school on Wednesday, April 27 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Students will demonstrate projects, models and works from all grades. The community is invited to talk with student guides, watch presentations and celebrate student work.
The campus is at 1300 Moody Lane, Geyserville.
Boosters golf tournament
The 18th Annual Healdsburg Greyhound Boosters Golf Tournament will be held at Tayman Golf Course on Saturday, April 30. The tournament includes food, fun, a raffle and silent auction and all proceeds benefit Healdsburg High School sports.
