Alicia Ruth Farnsworth – Analy graduate, class of
1989

Alicia Farnsworth died on March 27, 2009 in Santa Rosa at the
age of 38.
She was born in Corvallis, OR and raised in Corvallis and
Sebastopol, she graduated from Analy High School in 1989 and was a
graduate of Santa Rosa Junior College, AA as a Dental
Assistant.
Farnsworth is survived by her parents, John and Pam Farnsworth
of Sebastopol, CA; grandparents, Ralph and Sarah Farnsworth of
Helena, MT, and Virginia Payne of Santa Rosa; uncles and families,
Forrest, Alan and Steven Farnsworth; aunts and their families,
Rickey Alaya and Marla Jones.
Margaret I. O’Brien – Member of Sebastopol Senior
Center

Margaret O’Brien died April 12, 2009 at the age of 85. She was
born, raised and educated in Vacaville and has been a Sonoma County
resident since 1970. O’Brien was a member of the Sebastopol and
Santa Rosa Senior Centers for many years. She enjoyed gardening,
playing the organ, singing, tap, line and square dancing. She is
survived by her son, Jim (Laurie) O’Brien; daughter, Jackie (Bob)
Babcock; daughter, Suzie (Don) Roberts; son, John O’Brien; eight
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Frances ‘Beverly’ Bock
1944 graduate of Analy High School
Frances “Beverly” Bock died of cancer on April 2, 2009 at the
age of 84. Bock was born February 2, 1925 in Sebastopol, the third
child of Albert Jr. and Agnes Mayhorn. She graduated from Analy
High School in 1944. She was a day care provider for most of her
life.
Bock is survived by her son David Bock and his wife Louise,
their three children, and one great-grandson, all of Grass Valley,
CA. She is also survived by her sister Edith Leach of Santa Rosa
and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Walter
Bock.
As per request, there will be no services and her ashes will be
scattered at sea like her husband’s.
Ruby Mae Arfsten – Sonoma County resident 60
years

Ruby Arfsten died April 8, 2009 in Sebastopol at the age of
97. Arfsten was born in Oklahoma and has been a Sonoma County
resident the past 60 years. She was a member of the Autumn
Leaves.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Linda Swanson of Dallas,
TX; great-granddaughter, Alicia Ingram of Frisco, TX;
great-grandson, Joseph Swanson of Oklahoma City, OK, and
great-great-grandson Gabriel Ingram of Frisco, TX. Donations may be
made in her name to the American Heart Association.
Edward A. “Eddie” Zanzi – Grew up in Alexander
Valley

Edward A. “Eddie” Zanzi died peacefully in his Healdsburg home
on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the age of 96. He was born in San
Francisco to Luigi and Ermelinda Zanzi, grew up in Alexander Valley
and was preceded in death by his brother Dario and his sister
Nina.
He is survived by Angelina, his wife of 68 years; his son 
Kenneth and his wife Ellen Zanzi of Fortuna; his daughter Linda and
her husband Steve Lotspeich of Alamo; his grandson Dario Louis
Zanzi of Chico; and great granddaughters Shelby and Amber Zanzi of
Chico.
After his marriage to Angie in 1941, Ed worked at the Asti
Colony; at the Sausalito Ship Yard during WWII; owned and operated
the Dry Creek Store in the late 1940’s; moved to Healdsburg and
worked at W.C. Sanderson Ford as sales manager until his retirement
in 1975.  Ed spent many hours tending to his vegetable garden at
his Healdsburg home, cured his own olives and took delight in
providing his family and friends with the fruits of his garden. Ed
enjoyed spending time in Dunsmuir with his family and close
friends, Frank and Ines Ragghianti of San Francisco, where they
fished for trout on the upper Sacramento River. He also loved to
duck hunt in the Butte Sink during the fall with Don Navara; attend
San Francisco Giants baseball games with Skip and Beth Evart; and
travel to Europe with the Modenas and the Passalacquas, including
places in Italy where family members resided. Ed always had a story
to tell and was at ease in conversation with anyone he met. Fluent
in Italian, he was able to converse with many of his parent’s
friends and acquaintances in various dialects. Both Ed and Angie
loved to entertain their friends with a good meal. Always an
adventurous eater, he was willing to try all types of food.
Ed will remain in the hearts and minds of many friends in and
around Sonoma County. The family thanks Jason Houng and Amanda
Hunter for care they provided during the last months of his
life.
A liturgy was delivered by Father Walt Regina at St. John’s
Catholic Church, Healdsburg, on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 11
a.m. Interment will be private at Oakmound Cemetery. Funeral
services were held on Wednesday, April 22.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be
made to their favorite charity or to the Police and Fire
Departments of Healdsburg who responded to medical aid on numerous
occasions, or to Hospice of Sonoma County who helped through the
final days.
Mary K. Pelanconi Armanino – Born in Dry Creek
Valley

Mary K. Pelanconi Armanino died at Healdsburg District Hospital
Monday April 20, 2009 at the age of 96. Mary was the daughter of
the late William and Lucy Pelanconi. She was the beloved wife of
the late William L. Armanino and dear mother of the late William L.
Armanino Jr.  She is survived by her loving daughters Mary (Sonny)
McPherson and Julie (Carl) Perry. Mary was the adored grandmother
of Jeff Perry, Tim (Tami) Perry, great grandchildren Kayli,
Samantha, Broc and Lane Perry and step grandchildren Sara (Tom)
Stibi, Teresa and Ellis McPherson, step great grandchildren,
Brooke, Deno, Marki, Tommie Stibi, Lacy and Jared Burton. She also
leaves behind special friends Odile Rasmussen and Joyce
Fanucchi.
Mary was born in Dry Creek Valley but spent her first six years
on Signal Ridge. In 1918 she moved to Thomas Road in Healdsburg
where she lived until moving to Healdsburg Senior Living.  She
graduated from Healdsburg High School and attended Sweets Business
College in Santa Rosa. She married William in 1936 and they started
their family. Mary was active in several community organizations in
Alexander Valley,
She was a 4H leader for 10 years, a PTA member, Ladies
Auxiliary, T.O.P.S. Healdsburg, K.O.P.S. #15 Healdsburg. Mary
enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, hunting and fishing.
Catching her last fish earlier this month. She enjoyed traveling
and a little gambling. The family would like to thank the staff of
Healdsburg Senior Living and her physician Dr. Paul Margulio for
their wonderful care. Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother and
touched so many with her sweet smile and conversations.
Friends are invited to attend Visitation from 2-7pm Sunday April
26, 2009 at Fred Young F.H. 428 N. Cloverdale Blvd. Cloverdale. A
Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday April 27, at
Oakmound Cemetery. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 12 
noon Monday, April 27, at Thunderbird Ranch, 9455 Hwy 128,
Healdsburg, Ca. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be
made to Alexander Valley Ladies Aux., Geyserville Alexander Valley
Volunteer Fire Department or your favorite charity.
