Vandalism
Editor: It is with a sense of outrage that I feel the need to write this letter to the editor addressing the vandalism (again) of the Windsor Service Alliance van. As many of you know, Windsor Service Alliance is a community based non-profit, all volunteer organization that distributes food to all Windsor residents in need every Friday.
Windsor Service Alliance relies heavily on donations from the community and from local grocery stores. The van is needed to pick up theses donations and also for trips to the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Last month a tire on the van was slashed as volunteers were preparing to use the van for early morning food pickup. It happened again this week where another tire was slashed. The van is predominately parked in the lot adjacent to Windsor Service Alliance in hopes of deterring vandalism which unfortunately it has not. What can we do as a community to stop vandalism of a van that is used only to help distribute food to those that are in need?
