Thanks from Windsor Fire
Editor: In early October, Windsor Fire hosted its 13th annual Open House, which drew an estimated 700 of our friends and neighbors. As always, it is so gratifying to see old friends and meet new ones.
An event such as this cannot be a success without the contributions of many, many people. We would like to publicly acknowledge our appreciation to the following:
Supervisor Mike McGuire for his attendance and support;
Garrett Ace Hardware, Johnny Garlic’s, Brooks Road Dental, Applebee’s, Energy Health Club, Rodney Strong Vineyards, Saigon Bistro, Starbucks, Artrellis Flower and Gifts, and Windsor Cutlery for their generous donations of silent auction items, which resulted in our raising $1500 for the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation;
Pohley’s Market and Raley’s for their generous donations of food and drinks;
Officer Jon Sloat of the California Highway Patrol; Bill Mikan, Windsor Police Department Community Services Officer; Boys Scouts of America Troop 707; and Rincon Valley Fire Protection District Explorers.
Pick n Pull for the donating two junker cars used for a “jaws of life” demonstration and “whack a car” opportunity to bash a car with a sledge hammer as part of the fundraising;
And, last but certainly not least, Windsor Fire Engineer Brandon Hefele, who was in charge of this year’s event, and the several men and women of Windsor Fire who put a lot of time and effort into making it a success.
The biggest thanks of all goes to those who came to the Open House and expressed their appreciation for who we are and what we do. We are honored to serve such a great community.
We look forward to seeing everyone next year.
