Supporting McGuire

Editor: With the sorry shape the county is in right now (I know
because I’m a teacher in Santa Rosa), I think it is crucially
important that we elect a supervisor with the ability to move us in
the right direction.
Mike is not your usual politician. What has always most
impressed me about Mike is how well he listens, analyzes
information, and comes up with workable solutions. But he doesn’t
stop there; Mike makes sure that he gets everyone on board and
makes things happen.
I’ve seen it firsthand. I guess I should’ve known when I saw
Mike picking up trash (and every single penny) when he walked his
dog. Mike got our very opinionated neighbors together, and helped
us to get our finances in order and beautify our neighborhood.
When Mike McGuire was on the school board here in Healdsburg, he
led the effort to pass a needed bond measure to redo Healdsburg’s
worn out schools and athletic fields. Mike is an incredibly hard
worker, but he also has the knack to inspire others to follow
him.
Mike understands the importance of education. He’s gone on to
Sonoma State University to get his Masters in Public
Administration, and was able to bring this emphasis to the
Healdsburg City Council. For the first time the council and the
school district began to work together to coordinate resources and
efforts in a new way.
I know he will have the same emphasis on education as a Sonoma
County Supervisor.
Every teacher knows that the future of our community tomorrow
depends upon our not failing our students today. That’s why I’m
supporting Mike McGuire for 4th District County Supervisor.
