Editor: Sending four people to the Copenhagen Climate Control
conference is unconscionable. The Board of Supervisors have the
unmitigated gall to spend tax payer funds for this unnecessary
expenditure.
Bali Climate Conference cost about $25,000 to send Paul Kelley
as a representative. Never once was a report made to the public.
This journey will cost, supposedly, $22,400. Round trip, first
class air fare is approximately $5,000 and tourist fare more than
$500. Cheap hotel rates will be $200 per day. Food and
transportation at least another $200. Do your math, at least
$36,000 will be spent to find that it is cold outside.
Shame on the Supervisors for displaying such rashness and misuse
of citizen’s money.
The grant jury should demand a complete audit of such frivolous
expenditures.
