While shopping in our Safeway the other day, on aisle 15 , but of course.
That is where all the goodies are. I was going up and down looking for things that I needed to make a Merry Christmas. Up and down, up and down. I said “My! this is a popular aisle.” We all became friends, helping one another find what we had on our lists. Then I wanted mincemeat that no one could find.
I went to find help. The cashier said over on aisle 15, where all the pie making supplies are. So back over I went. “Well,” someone said to me “Are you still here?”
“Yes,” I said, “I was sent back for my mincemeat.” Another lady I did not know, took me under her wing, helping me look. She had at least $200 worth of groceries in her basket, pushing it all around the store looking, even went up to an other cashier and asked again. This person sent her way in the back corner of the store. She said “Follow me, I know just where it is.” We went sailing back there looking, looking, looking, she said she was told it was in a package not a jar. Another worker came to help us look. Then she finely announced, “We just don’t have any.” I said “Maybe it’s in the back room.” “No,” she said, it would be out here. With that we all decided I might find it at one of the drug stores. I also mentioned the only other grocery store in our town.
With that I thanked the stranger, over and over again for helping me. Then I had a bright idea. Just maybe it could be over in the meat department. I asked, “Do you happen to have mincemeat over here?”
He came around the counter and behold, in a corner was many jars of mincemeat. My life was saved, and my Christmas dinner will have mincemeat pie. Now I went sailing back up to the front of the store looking for that nice lady and told her I had found it over in the meat department.
Merry Christmas to all of my friends and family.
