Height limits
EDITOR: Four story buildings (e.g. new towering Dry Creek and Grove Street’s four story complex) in our downtown corridor would cast a large shadow over Healdsburg’s small town charm, forever entrapping the sunshine behind concrete walls.

Thanks to Time
EDITOR: I have subscribed to Time Magazine for over 40 years. Never have I seen them do what they did this issue: the entire magazine was devoted to direct pictures of people suffering from the opioid epidemic. Deaths, more deaths, children losing their parents, parents losing their children. Pictures on every page. No advertisements, just pictures on every page showing the devastation of this crisis.
I strongly suggest that everyone buy this March 5 edition. You will learn of the serious devastation of this crisis, and would be supportive of Time taking on this very critical public issue putting profit motive aside. Thank you Time Magazine for this amazing report.

No to gun store
EDITOR: Healdsburg and the city council have the opportunity to draw a line in our own sand by refusing to allow a gun store to open for business here. We can say that it “isn’t our kind of enterprise,” or that “guns and alcohol sales don’t mix,” but let’s just make it impossible for someone to start a killing spree by buying guns in Healdsburg.

Be political
EDITOR: To the teenagers of Windsor, Healdsburg, Santa Rosa and all of North Bay schools — be strong, be active, be vocal, use your power of social media, be political, vote as soon as you turn 18, march with the students from Florida, and the rest of America on March 14 to show the world: no more guns.
Money is the root of all evil, and it has sent its tentacles into all levels of society. Mind-boggling forces with money and power have corrupted our government, and millions of people who think that any weapon is a safety measure. Politicians have lost sight of their purpose — to work for the good of the nation — to work only for their own gain and permanence.
Corrupt politicians can be voted out. I worked on my first political campaign at age 16, but I couldn’t vote until I was 21. And I’m still politically active 60 years later. Teenagers — don’t wait. Be political now and continue to make America safe and strong, and a blessed place to live.
