Ragle parking redux
Editor: This unobservant mortal has “newish” egg on his face
(see “Ragle Park parking” in the Oct. 15 issue of Sonoma West Times
& News). Those 24 minute parking spaces on Ragle Rd. have been
there for at least 20 years. News to me for 20 years, and my
daughter’s family who has parked there regularly for 1 1/2 years.
And yes, it was an irate Ragle Road resident who phoned in the
complaint on the Oct. 10 soccer tournament day, that resulted in
the parking tickets. Furthermore, the parking spaces across from
Brook Haven School are limited to 24 minutes. Beware if you’re
volunteering or playing tennis. Like Ragle Rd. residents,
those Valentine St. residents have garages and two-car driveways,
plus unlimited use of the spaces in front of their houses as
“residents.” Non-residents only get 24 minutes. Same on Pleasant
Hill, across from the super playground. Those residents with
garages and two-car driveways have restricted parking in front of
their houses to 24 minutes, unless you’re a “resident.” What’s a
“resident” resident? If ticketing these bogus 24 minute spaces
becomes a revenue stream, can parking meters be far behind?

Health care for all
Editor: Who among us has the right to deny another human being
access to affordable health care? What fears cause us to turn away
from the suffering of others? How have we come to believe, “love
your neighbor as yourself” excludes the poor, the sick, people of
other colors, cultures, faiths, and those who do so much of the
work of our land but are undocumented?
We need to practice doing the right thing, trusting that in
providing health care for others, there will be enough care to go
around.
Remember the loaves and fishes.
There is always enough of God’s love to share.
