Measure K thank you
Editor: It is with great appreciation from Forestville
School/Academy that I express my thanks for the overwhelming
support from our community in the passing of Measure K on the Nov.
2 election. Measure K will allow the District to do much needed
improvements to our facilities. Some of the major projects are
upgrading our play areas including equipment, adding multi-media
technology to each classroom, developing an early childhood center,
completing accessibility access to all parts of the campus, and
improving the front parking area.
Special recognition needs to be given to all of volunteers who
helped on the campaign. Thank you to Mat Barnes, chair of the K for
Kids committee; Joe Standridge, treasurer; Cathy Mabry, endorsement
chair; all of the ballot signers; the phone volunteers; and the
many individuals and organizations who publicly endorsed Measure
K.
Forestville voters showed their recognition of the value of a
high quality community school. We will not betray your trust.
Working together with the community, the school will continue our
commitment to offering every student the opportunity to a
world-class education.

Adieu Linda Kelley
Editor: As a new Sebastopol City Council takes office, we
applaud retiring Councilmember Linda Kelley. She has always gone
the extra mile: in addition to being up-to-date on the material
provided by staff, she reached out to experts knowledgeable on the
issues, studied documents, and listened to the citizens before
arriving at quality decisions.
Linda has conducted herself in a very positive manner, when
some, in her place, might have been tempted to respond in kind to
her few detractors. Character counts.
Dear Linda, we know you will continue to be involved in the
business of Sebastopol. Thank you for your time, effort, dedication
and obvious love for our town.

Active 20-30 holidays
Editor: It with a warm heart that I am proud to announce the
Active 20-30 Club of Sebastopol’s first holiday season with West
County. Our wonderful group of men and women established our
presence here in June, 2010, kicking off with our Pasta Feed for
the Forestville Elementary School Library. We then teamed up with
the North Bay #656 and Petaluma #30 clubs to take more than 75
children back-to-school shopping and delivering more than 40 back
packs and school supplies to schools in West County.
As a club we wanted to provide a holiday experience for the
underprivileged children in our community and after talking about
it and weighing all the options we chose to adopt four local
families in need and provide them with everything possible to ease
the stress of the holidays. We will be collecting toys, clothes,
games, gift certificates and non perishable food items through Dec.
16 to ensure we can deliver everything to the families on Dec. 18.
If you would like to donate please call or e-mail me so that we can
connect.
Active 20-30 is an international service organization that
provides men and women 20 to 39-years-old with opportunities for
personal growth, life long friendships and leadership development
while working together to improve the quality of life for the
children in need in our local communities.
Sebastopol #63 is a co-ed club that meets on the 2nd Tuesday of
each month at Graton Ridge Cellars for our business meeting that
starts at 6:30 p.m. and the 4th Tuesday of each month at Hopmonk
Tavern in Sebastopol for our social meeting.
We encourage the community to come join us at a meeting or two
and meet our members, find out who we are and what we can do to
help our neighbors here in West County.
For more information, contact Samantha Mineo at 536-3252 or by
e-mail at se************@li**.com, or go

Wishing you and your families a happy, healthy and unforgettable
holiday season this and every year.
