Measure I thank you
Editor: On behalf of the Committee to “I”mprove West County High
Schools, we would like to sincerely thank voters across West County
for your overwhelming support of Measure I on the November ballot.
Measure I will upgrade and renovate classrooms and facilities, and
help provide students at Analy, El Molino and Laguna High Schools
the school facilities they need and deserve.
Measure I will enable West County high schools to install solar
panels, increase energy efficiency, reduce water usage, and make
other “green” improvements; modernize outdated classrooms,
restrooms and outdoor facilities; upgrade technology; and make
health, safety, and handicapped accessibility improvements; all
without increasing the current tax rate. All Measure I spending
will be reviewed and annually audited by an independent citizens’
oversight committee.
West County voters showed they recognize the value of quality
high schools by passing Measure I. Special thanks to the hundreds
of community members who publicly endorsed Measure I. Thanks to the
West County voters for your continued outstanding support of West
County high schools. Together, we will accomplish the important
task of helping young people achieve success.
Jim Walton and Keller McDonald
Co-Chairs, Committee to “I”mprove West County High
Schools

Thank you from Dobbs
Editor: Many thanks to all the folks in West County who voted in
the recent election for three seats on the Palm Drive Hospital
Board. I am extremely grateful for the “whopping”  show of support
for my candidacy (“West County voters alter leadership” Sonoma West
Time & News, Nov. 4). The level of turnout indicates a healthy
interest in the future of the hospital and health care in West
County. I urge you to remain interested and involved. After all,
it’s your hospital.

Sebastopol
Thank you from Kyes
Editor: I want to thank the voters of Sebastopol for entrusting
me with a seat on the Sebastopol City Council. I will do my best to
listen to all members of our community and be a thoughtful voice on
the council as we deliberate over the City’s business. I welcome
everyone’s thoughts and ideas and hope that Sebastopol residents
will contact me when they have any issue of concern. Thank you to
the many volunteers who walked neighborhoods for me and who gave me
their support. The great thing about Sebastopol is that it is truly
a town where grass roots action matters. I also thank my fellow
candidates. Every one of them contributed thoughtful ideas in the
candidate’s forums and our community has benefited from their
participation in our civic process.

Thank you from Gurney
Editor: I’m honored to be the top finisher in the Sebastopol
City Council race. The result was the work of a lot of people whom
I wish to thank. First, sincere thanks to the voters who have
elected me. Warm thanks, too, to the many citizens who greeted me
at their front doors and shared their thoughts about Sebastopol.
Special thanks to the many people who endorsed me, put up signs,
and contributed in other ways. Heartfelt thanks to the volunteers
on my campaign whose tireless efforts kept me going.
I look forward to our four years together and to the many
accomplishments ahead of us.
Sarah Gurney
Mayor of Sebastopol
Thanks Robinson, Kelley
Editor: On the eve of a new chapter in each of their lives, I
would like to thank Larry Robinson and Linda Kelley for their years
of service to our community. Each has brought perspective and
experience to City proceedings in a variety of ways.
I would also like to thank all past community members throughout
the years who have served, not only on the City Council, the
Planning Commission or the Design Review Board, but also those who
have acted as advocates for those causes or individuals who might
need one. It is sometimes difficult to raise one’s hand and say,
“It is my turn to serve,” but our community features many who
do.
In addition, I would like to thank my wife, Theresa, my
supporters, volunteers and voices of advice; I could not have asked
for a kinder, more helpful group. It is with great anticipation and
respect that I assume the office of City Council Member and I will
do all I can to honor the given legacy.
