Editor: Already the dirty campaigning has started in Windsor.
There is a new woman in town whose name is Julia Donoho. She has
lived here nine months. First she applied for the Planning
Commission seat that was open in May, but she was not selected. Now
she is running for Town Council. She is an architect, and in the
Town Council meeting where she was not selected, I made some public
comments about how we were looking for an architect for our
Planning Commission.
Julia has taken those comments, and has put them on her campaign
brochure, in quotes from me, using them completely out of context,
and has used my name and title on her brochure. The way she used
used my quote has people thinking that I endorse her, which was her
intent. It is a very clever campaign trick, emphasis on the
³trick.²
saw the brochure last weekend when it was brought to my
attention. I then confronted Julia, telling her I did not support
her run for Council, and I told her to remove my name from her
brochure. She refused. I consider this unethical, and dishonest
campaigning. As you consider Town Council candidates for the
November election, I ask that you keep this dirty campaign trick in
mind. I will do my best to make sure that Windsor is not confused
by Julia¹s tactics, and that the truth gets out. For the record, I
endorse and support our current Mayor Sam Salmon for re-election,
and Robin Goble, my Planning Commissioner, for Town Council.
