Proud of the brown lawns
Editor:Â Â
As I drive around my town of Cloverdale, I see stark brown lawns everywhere. Although not what I consider to be beautiful landscaping, I couldn’t be more proud of my community for coming together in this crisis. I recently read in the Reveille that Cloverdale residents cut their year-to-date water use by 35 percent! A far cry from the Governor’s goal of 20 percent. This is truly the spirit of thinking globally and acting locally. Well done Cloverdale.

New director says thanks
Editor:Â Â
Thank you for the warm welcome in the July 24 issue of the Reveille. As the new Executive Director, I am happy to be part of such a caring and diverse group of people at the Cloverdale Senior Multipurpose Center. There are many exciting changes in the months to come. We will keep you up to date in future Reveille articles. Â
We are fortunate to have such a great community of participation! I think it’s important to point out that our Members range in age from 21 to 90-something. Everyone over the age of 21 is welcome to join our Center and participate in our various activities. If you are interested in becoming a Member or volunteer, please call me for more information. I look forward to meeting with you!

Community Garden Oasis SOS
Editor:Â Â
The Community Garden Oasis is expecting the power, that runs our well pump, to be permanently cut off at any time now, with a 48 hour notice. We have decided to go solar but that won’t be finished until mid to late Aug. In the mean time, if we have to, we will be needing a 3500 watt generator to run the pump.
I am putting out a request for two things. One, does anyone have this type of generator that we could borrow? Two, if anyone would like to contribute to this worthy project (solar system), it would be greatly appreciated. The City is demonstrating their interest in having more solar and here is one more.
There is a Community Garden Oasis account at Exchange Bank to accept any donations. Â
