Kiwanis to hold night meetings
EDITOR: Are you looking for a service club to join that is closely affiliated with the youth of Cloverdale? Maybe Cloverdale Kiwanis is the club for you. In order to make our club more accessible to the people in Cloverdale, Kiwanis will hold night meetings on the last Thursday of each month, starting this month (January 26). The meetings will be held in the Ruth McGowan’s Brewpub, with a social starting at 6:30 and the general meeting at 7 p.m. Cloverdale Kiwanis will continue to hold its general membership meetings on Thursday mornings, at Zini’s restaurant, 7 a.m.
Kiwanis clubs focus on changing the world by serving children, “One child and one community at a time.” Cloverdale Kiwanis has successfully sponsored programs that directly affect the lives of children. Here’s a list of a few programs: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Program (every child, from ages 0-5, that lives in Cloverdale receives a free reading book); Cloverdale High School scholarships; Battle of the Books program at Washington School; Food Pantry and Jefferson School book giveaway, just to name a few.
Cloverdale Kiwanis is also affiliated with two student programs: Cloverdale High School Key Club and Builders Club (at the middle school). Both of these programs are an integral component of the Kiwanis Club of Cloverdale and both work extremely hard to raise money for the programs listed above.
We look forward to seeing you at our first night meeting on Thursday, January 26, at 6:30 p.m. Please call Patrick O’Rourke, our president, if you have any questions (972-4499).

Raffle a success
EDITOR: The Cloverdale Sculpture raffle was a huge success. Many people and businesses need to be thanked for this success: the sponsor of the event, the Cloverdale Historical Society and History Museum, Kelley & Young, Wine+Garden+Inn for donating the Wine Country getaway package raffle prize. Next, Bolt +Home and Mail Center, Etc. for selling tickets at their places of business, and the raffle committee for selling many tickets to their friends and neighbors; Janet Howell, Tracy Valva and Jane Doroff. Finally, the biggest thank you goes to everyone who purchased tickets in support of the Cloverdale Sculpture Trail.
