CPAC fan
EDITOR: Thank you for your article on the Cloverdale Performing Arts Center. I wholeheartedly agree that CPAC has provided many opportunities for our youth to participate in live theater. I give a special tip of my cap to Yavé Guzman who has mentored and nurtured the talents of many students. He has made a concerted effort to get students involved and has also provided support for our Cloverdale High School Drama program.
I have been teaching drama at Cloverdale High School for over six years and it’s very exciting and gratifying to see the positive effects these shows have on the students’ growth, professionalism and confidence. And most importantly, they have a lot of fun. CPAC is truly a treasure for the Cloverdale community, and I encourage you, if you haven’t already done so, to come to a show – whether it’s a play, a musical event, or you if want to exhibit your own talent on an open mic night.

Cloverdale children need you
EDITOR: The Foster Grandparent Program is now seeking school volunteers 55-plus years to serve in Cloverdale classrooms; nurturing, encouraging and tutoring children. This national program provides an opportunity to build relationships with children and adults, become part of a team and enrich the lives of children. Foster grandparents report an increased level of life satisfaction and purpose when they start serving. Volunteers receive a stipend of $2.65 per hour, free lunch, transportation reimbursement and recognition events. The stipend is not counted as income and is completely tax free. If you can volunteer 15 or more hours a week, during the school year and would like more information, please call the NCO Volunteer Network/Foster Grandparent Program at 707-462-1959.
