NCS scholastic honors
The Jaguars did more than just capture the North Bay League championship last season, they were also outstanding in the classroom. Windsor was recently named the top scholastic basketball team among North Coast Section Division-2 schools, an impressive distinction illustrating the overall success of the program.
“It’s a great honor for the program and a testament to all the hard work the players put in on the court and in the classroom,” WHS head coach Travis Taylor said.
Summer tourneys return to Windsor
The summer off-season basketball programs will ramp up for both WHS boys and girls programs in July when the Jaguars host their annual tournaments.
The Lady Jaguars will host the 8th annual Sonoma County Shootout on June 24-26, an event that will feature 16 varsity teams and eight JV squads. Each varsity team will play five games. Participating teams include; Windsor, Analy, Sonoma Valley, Montgomery, San Marin, Marin Catholic, Healdsburg and Cloverdale.
The Summer Shootout boys tourney will take place in the main gymnasium on July 16-17. Although the full line-up of teams has not been announced, the event is expected to attract some 20 teams.
