The Our Lady of Guadalupe 8th grade boys Division 1 team held on for a 57-46 win over St. Mary’s in this week’s OLG Catholic Youth Organization game of the week. Coach Kim Batchelder’s team led by 18 going into the final period. St. Mary’s full court press was effective and pulled the Ukiah team to within five points but the locals held on to stay atop the standings at 3-0.
Shane Moran led all scorers with 23 points. Khalil Bhangoo was next with 15. Anib Pravin hit two big three points shots for his six while Sergio Gonzales-Ceja contributed four. Trent Matthews, Shea Batchelder and Carter Daniel closed out the scoring with three points each.
OLG CYO Basketball is open to Windsor boys and girls, of all skill levels, in grades 3-8. It is sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Santa Rosa. Home games are played at Windsor Middle School. Saturday’s games are played from 9 a.m. unitl 5 p.m. Sunday games are played in the afternoon to allow families time to attend mass in the morning.
