Lady Jags on a roll
Windsor played arguably its best ball of the season in an April 25 see-saw battle at Ukiah, a game that featured outstanding play a big momentum swings. The Jags staked pitcher Kayla Scott to a 1-0 lead in the second before the Wildcats pushed across a run in the third to knot it a 1-1. Both teams rallied for three runs in a wild fourth inning, but Ukiah scratched for a solo run in the fifth for a 5-4 lead.
Not a problem, as the Windsor bats erupted in a five-run seventh, propelling the Jaguars to an eventual 9-5 victory.
“It was a huge win for us and probably the best game we’ve had all season,” Jags coach Morgan Rasmason said. “We really finished and played focused for the full game. I told the girls that this game was going to be a battle and they had to prove they wanted it more, and they proved it. We finally had a game where our defense, hitting, and pitching were all on point,” she added.
