Athletes of the Week: Leon and Vera

Throughout the school year, the Windsor Times will name a male and female athlete of the week.
Leon a durable back for Jags footballers
Sophomore running back Lorenzo Leon is in the midst of a break-out campaign for the Jaguars, emerging as one of the team’s leading rushers. A tough and durable back that is hard to bring down, Leon is at his best running between the tackles, allowing the Jags to control the ball on the ground.
Vera a leader on the court for tennis team
Junior tennis standout Mia Vera has been a pleasant surprise for a competitive Lady Jaguar’s squad this fall, rising to become the top singles player on the team. Navigating a tough North Bay League schedule, Vera has given every opponent all they can handle in helping her team compete with the league’s best each week.
