Coach Dan Whitteaker’s 7th grade boys team had to protect their early lead to get the win in this week’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Church’s Catholic Youth Organization game of the week. Coach Whitteaker’s team almost blew a ten point, fourth quarter lead in defeating St. Francis of Sonoma 25-22.

Grant Migneron had the early hot hand as the locals built a 17-9 halftime advantage. St. Francis went on a late 9-0 run and pulled to within one in the last minute. They then had several chances to score but Chase Khan’s basket off a missed shot sealed the victory for OLG.

Migneron was the game’s top scorer as he finished with eight points. Nicholas Derr and Zachary Anderson followed with eight and six respectively. Darren Dang followed with three. Khan and Moses Medeiros both had two points to round out the scoring.

Next comes the penultimate weekend of NBCYO regular season play. Home games are played on Saturdays and Sundays at Windsor Middle School. The public is invited to attend all games.
