The Windsor Middle School girls wrestling team wrapped up a watershed season on March 30, taking seventh place overall the 16th annual Girls State Wrestling Tournament.
The meet, held at Hogan Middle School in Vallejo, included 217 participating wrestlers on 52 competing teams.
Leading the charge for Windsor at the state tournament was Ashlyn Nappi, who went 4-1 in her division to earn a second place medal.
Also competing well was Jolette Torres, who won five straight matches after losing her opening bout to the eventual state champion to claim third place in her division.
Rawni Self rounded out the Windsor contingent with a 1-2 record.
“These girls are talented, strong and very determined to make some noise for themselves,” WMS coach Rich Dixon reported. “I have a feeling you will hear more noise from them in the near future.”
