Junior phenom shatters WHS record in the 100 freestyle
Windsor High School junior Connor Wong continued a remarkable spring season at the North Coast Section Swimming Championships in Concord on May 3 and 4, advancing to the finals in both the 100 Butterfly and 200 IM.
Seeded third in the 100 butterfly, Wong captured fourth place in the finals in a fast 50.08. His time in the race qualified him to compete at the prestigious CIF State Championships in Clovis on May 10 and 11.
Seeded 26th overall at NCS in the 200 IM, Wong finished in 12th place in a time of 1:55.26.
On Sunday, the junior phenom was back in the pool to compete in the 100 freestyle event at a post NCS meet held at UC Davis, clocking a sizzling 48.28 to shatter the Windsor High School record set by Sam Haley in 2012.
