Windsor welcomed a new director to the town’s Senior Center
Monday.
During an afternoon reception at the Windsor Senior Center, new
director Eva (pronounced “Ava”) Corbin greeted visitors, senior
center participants and town officials.
Corbin was formerly the director of the senior center in Novato,
and took the job in Windsor to be able to work closer to her home
in Santa Rosa.
“I did want to get back to Sonoma County,” said Corbin, who has
lived here for 30 years. “And this is an opportunity to continue
working with seniors.
“This seems like a really great atmosphere and the people are
really friendly, welcoming and involved,” said Corbin.
She has a bachelor’s degree in recreation management from San
Francisco State University and has worked with teens, youth and
seniors. Before her job in Novato, she worked for the city of Santa
Rosa’s recreation department.
“I have a lot of experience coordinating programs,” said Corbin.
“And I’m really happy to be hear.”
She was hired to replace Amy Beth Ogden, who was the center’s
director for less than six months.
Ogden left in December of 2002 and former director Joanna
Forrester has been serving as the interim director.
