Rough concrete pour delays skate park opening

Completion of the town of Windsor’s $300,000 skate park will be
delayed until at least the end of January after portions of the
park’s bowl area had to be removed because the concrete surface was
too rough.
Town officials and the skate park architect, Zachary Wormhoudt,
determined that the finished concrete surface was uneven and did
not meet specifications and could affect the park’s
performance.
Construction on the Pat Elsbree Skate Park at Lewis Park started
this past summer and was scheduled to be completed by now.
Town Engineer Don Monk said the contractor was ready to repour
the concrete before the recent series of storms hit. At least two
to three days of dry weather are needed for the concrete to be
repoured, and once it is poured it needs 30 days to cure before
it’s ready for skaters.
