For the second time in the past month, a Windsor store was
robbed at gunpoint and the thief got away on foot.
Windsor police are seeking a man who robbed Berry’s Market on
Old Redwood Highway at gunpoint last Thursday night and made off
with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his late teens,
held the clerk at gunpoint and demanded cash at around 9:45 p.m.,
according to police.
Although the suspect wore a hood and fled on foot, police say
they have a tape from a surveillance camera located in Berry’s
Market that may identify him.
“There’s a tape,” Lt. Bruce Rochester said. “We’re going to
review it and see if there’s any photos the deputies can
recognize.”
The suspect is believed to be between 5″3′ and 5″5′ in height,
between the ages of 15 and 19 and was wearing dark colored pants, a
red sweatshirt and a beanie. The clerk told police that his handgun
had a red strip across the top of the weapon.
The armed robbery is the second along Old Redwood Hwy. in the
past month, the first occurring a few blocks away at the Estetica
Mayra Jewelry store in mid-December. “Right now we don’t think
they’re connected,” Rochester said.
