Here’s what’s happening at the senior center this week:
Computer Users’ Group, Monday, July 9, 1 to 4 p.m. $3 fee; newcomers are free. Our guest speakers will be representatives from Best Buy: Niko Froehner, Geek Squad Manager; Mickale Jones, Mobile Department Supervisor; Cristian Tobar, In-home Agent; and Dylan Preuss, Mobile Team Member. A General Q&A period will be from 1 to 2 p.m. and Jim Tubb, computer consultant, will give a short presentation on Windows Tips and Tricks. A presentation by our guest speakers will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Come, enjoy, learn and network.
Tai Chi. Tuesdays, July 10 through 31, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. $24 Windsor residents/$28 non-residents. Tai Chi emphasizes mental and physical ability, body alignment, circulation and balance. Tai Chi is proven to positively impact the health of the heart, nerves, muscles, and the mind. Please pre-register for this four-week class online or at the senior center front desk.
Sugar, Oh Honey, Honey. Wednesday, July 11, 2 to 3 p.m. Get the inside scoop on sugar in this free presentation by Jenny Helman, holistic nutrition consultant. Learn about hidden sugar in your food, the many names of sugar and sugar substitutes — the good, the bad and the ugly. Get cooking tips on how to use sugar replacements and healthy recipes for your sweet tooth. Call 838-1250 by July 9 to sign up.
Gentle Yoga. Mondays, ongoing, 10:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. $5 drop-in fee. Enjoy a series of postures designed to increase flexibility, strength, balance, range of motion and stability. Each student is encouraged to let their body be their guide as they move to their gentle edge. No yoga experience necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.
