Aaction Rents Dodgers win Minors TOC, 15-14
In a high-scoring game that was still in doubt until the last
out in the top of the sixth, the Aaction Rents Dodgers outscored
the Kathy Stauffer Realtor Giants 15-14 after the Giants had led
the game throughout the first 4 1/2 innings of play. The Dodgers
scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth led by the hitting of
Jared Beth (3 for 3) who had two RBIs in the inning and five RBIs
for the game. Alex Duree-Ferris had two hits for the Dodgers with
Robbie Woodcock, Nicholas Newman, and Nick Desai Jr. all
contributed one hit. Jacob Garcia pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 innings
to earn the win with Robbie Wookdcock and Mitchell Williams doing
yeomen work on the mound. Lucas Teldeschi was lauded by his coaches
for his tireless work behind the plate and Liam Duree-Ferris, Simon
Fruth, Travis Williams, Colton Davis, and Daniel Heitmeyer were
praised for their hustle on both offense and defense.
JUNIORS
Healdsburg Yankees 12, Cloverdale White Sox 2 (June 3)
The Healdsburg Kiwanis Jr. Yankees stormed past the Cloverdale
LL Jr. White Sox 12-2 at Recreation Park. The Yankees scored a run
in the first, five in the second, four in the third, and two more
in the fourth. Ryan Ramirez (2-3, run, double, 2 RBI) and Michael
Wilson (2-3, run, double, RBI) led the assault. Sawyer Wilson (2-3,
run), Thomas Kozel (1-1, 3 runs) and Kevin MacLachlan (1-1, RBI)
contributed as pool players. Jake Manning (1-3, 3 runs, RBI) and
Mitch Blakeley (hit, run, RBI) added hits, and Anthony Torres, Cody
Candelario and Manny Diaz scored runs. Ramirez and Blakeley allowed
the Sox only two hits.
Healdsburg Yankees 11, Cloverdale Reds (June 6)
The Healdsburg Kiwanis Jr. Yankees ran past the Cloverdale LL
Reds 11-1 at Rec. Park. The Yankees came out hot, scoring nine runs
in the first inning. Michael Wilson (3-3, run, double, 2 RBI), Jake
Manning (3-3, 2 runs, RBI) and Mitch Blakeley (2-4, 2 runs, 3 RBI)
did much of the damage. Ryan Ramirez (1-2, run, RBI) managed a hit,
and Rob Mortenson, Alex Flores, Manny Diaz, Cody Candelario and
Anthony Torres scored runs. Yankees pitchers Wilson and Blakeley
yielded only two hits in the game.
Windsor A’s 8, Healdsburg Yankees 2 (June 10)
The Windsor LL Jr. A’s handed the Healdsburg Kiwanis Jr. Yankees
their second loss of the season on Saturday, June 10 at Healdsburg
HS, by a score of 8-2. The top four hitters in the A’s lineup did
all the damage, collectively, going 9-16 with seven runs and five
RBIs. The Yankees were led by Michael Wilson, who had a single and
double, and pool player David Capron, with a single, double, and
two RBIs. Rob Mortenson and Anthony Torres (double) had hits, and
Alex Flores and Brian Doss scored runs. Mitch Blakeley pitched the
final three innings, and held the A’s to one run on one hit.
Healdsburg 10, Cloverdale 8 (June 12)
The Healdsburg Kiwanis Jr. Yankees took a come-from behind
decision, 10-8, over the host Cloverdale Jr. White Sox. Leading the
comeback were Ryan Ramirez (3-4, double, 2 runs, RBI, 2 innings
pitched) and Michael Wilson (2-4, run, 3 scoreless IP). Pool
players Zach Zwahlen (2-2, 2 runs, RBI), Dylan Stanford (1-4,
double, run, 2 RBI) and Colin Brown came through big. Anthony
Torres and Mitch Blakeley (2 IP) both had a hit and two RBIs. Colin
Garvin had a hit and a run, and Manny Diaz and Cody Candelario
scored runs.
Healdsburg 10, Oregon Jr. Rangers 7 (June 17)
The Healdsburg Kiwanis Jr. Yankees ran their season’s record to
11-2 with another come-from-behind win over the Oregon Rain Bottled
Water Jr. Rangers on Saturday, June 17 at Rec Park, by a score of
10-7. The Yanks got a run in the fifth, sixth and four runs in the
top of the seventh to erase a Rangers lead. Alex Flores (3-4, 2
runs, RBI, one IP), Mitch Blakeley (2-4, run, 2 RBI, 3 IP), Manny
Diaz (2-4, run, RBI), Brian Doss (2-4, run), and Anthony Torres
(double, RBI) came up big. Michael Wilson (hit, 3 runs, 3 scoreless
IP), Ryan Ramirez (double, RBI), Rob Mortenson (hit) and Colin
Garvin (2 runs) added to the effort. Travis Paasche had two hits
and three RBIs for the Rangers.
