The Lions and Tigers track squads enjoyed a tremendous day at
the North Coast Section meet hosted by San Marin High School on May
20.
The meet involved some 25 schools and more than 300 athletes,
all competing for a top-seven finish in their respective events,
which would qualify them for a trip to the Meet of Champions at
Edwards Stadium in Berkeley this weekend.
In all, the Lions and Tigers qualified 18 athletes to the MOC,
led by Analy senior speedster Tracy Webster, who struck gold in the
100-meter dash, and also took fourth in the 100-hurdles and
200-meter dash. Turning in an outstanding effort for El Molino was
junior distance specialist Brittny Escamilla, who took fourth in
both the 1600 and 3200-meter races, shattering two school records
in the process.
